CFD says Cheyenne fills early in the year
Cheyenne Frontier Days 2027 runs for 10 days, Friday 23 July to Sunday 1 August, at Frontier Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and there is no official RV camping because the Frontier Park parking lots ban overnight camping and close at 1am. In our live search on 19 October 2026 for 21 July to 2 August 2027, Denver pick-ups started from US$176.77 a night for a Cruise America 21 ft motorhome. Pick up at Cruise America's Denver depot in Frederick, about 73 miles (118 km) from Frontier Park, then stay at a Cheyenne RV park such as Cheyenne Sky RV Park or Terry Bison Ranch, or at Curt Gowdy State Park, and book that site first.
Which rental brands suit Cheyenne Frontier Days?
One brand returned vehicles in our live search from Denver for 21 July to 2 August 2027: Cruise America. Salt Lake City, the next nearest CRG city, also returned Cruise America only. Cruise America does not publish a Cheyenne Frontier Days rule that we could find, so confirm your plans and campground in writing before you book.
- Cruise America (Class C motorhomes): four sizes, all automatic with a toilet, shower and fridge: Ultra Compact 18 ft (sleeps 2), Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4), Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5) and Large 30 ft (sleeps 7). A self-contained motorhome suits Frontier Days well, because you will be staying at an RV park or state park rather than at the venue.
- Generator: the Compact, Standard and Large have a generator, charged at US$3.50 an hour. The Ultra Compact does not, so book a site with power if you need air conditioning or outlets.
- Special events: Cruise America's FAQ says that in areas where special events take place, cancelling within 45 days of pick-up means you lose your reservation down payment. It names Burning Man and music festivals, not rodeos, so ask whether this applies to your Frontier Days hire.

What does Cheyenne Frontier Days RV hire cost?
Rates in US$ from our live Denver search on 19 October 2026 for a hire picking up Wednesday 21 July and returning Monday 2 August 2027 (12 nights), which covers all 10 days of the event. Prices are the nightly rates and totals shown at the time of the search.
- Cruise America Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4): US$176.77 a night, US$2,271.18 total.
- Cruise America Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5): US$180.57 a night, US$2,316.80 total.
- Cruise America Large 30 ft (sleeps 7): US$183.32 a night, US$2,349.82 total.
- Cruise America Ultra Compact 18 ft (sleeps 2): US$209.45 a night, US$2,663.36 total.
- Salt Lake City, same dates: Cruise America from US$175.75 a night (Ultra Compact and Compact) to US$200.96 (Large), totals US$2,179.17 to US$2,481.59, but Salt Lake City is about 439 miles (707 km) from Cheyenne.
These rates leave out several costs:
- Mileage: Cruise America charges 39 cents a mile, collected up front as an estimate of 100 miles a night for a local rental and adjusted at return. Frederick to Frontier Park and back is about 146 miles (235 km) before any touring.
- Extras: the generator is US$3.50 an hour, a Personal Kit (bedding) US$75 per person and a Vehicle Provisioning Kit (kitchen) US$125 per vehicle.
- Camping: Terry Bison Ranch lists full hook-up sites at US$65.54 a night with tax, and Curt Gowdy State Park charges non-residents an US$18 base camping fee plus the US$12 daily vehicle fee and tax, with power US$10 a night extra. See the camping section.
- Event costs: the official schedule lists PRCA rodeo tickets at US$26 to US$53, Frontier Nights concerts at US$72 to US$105, a one-day Carnival Armband at US$45 and US$5 park admission. Frontier Park parking was US$25 a vehicle and the Park-n-Ride US$20.
- Insurance excess and one-way fees vary, so compare live totals for your dates.
Is there camping at Cheyenne Frontier Days?
No. Cheyenne Frontier Days does not sell RV or tent camping at Frontier Park. Its directions and parking page says Frontier Park public parking is US$25 a vehicle, paid by credit card only, with access via Warren Avenue or Carey Avenue, that no overnight camping is permitted and that the lots close at 1am. The page does not mention RV or oversized vehicle parking, so ring the ticket office on (307) 778-7222 before you drive a motorhome in. The festival's where to stay page warns that Cheyenne accommodation tends to fill early in the year and links to Visit Cheyenne's list of campgrounds and RV parks.
RV parks in Cheyenne

- Cheyenne RV Resort (formerly the Cheyenne KOA), 8800 Hutchins Drive off I-80: full-hookup pull-through sites, tent sites with water and electric, cabins, a pool and a dump station free for guests. RV sites need a week's notice to cancel, with a US$20 fee, and the operator's midweek offer is blacked out during Frontier Days. It is about 10 miles (16 km) or 17 minutes from Frontier Park.
- WYO Campground, I-80 exit 377 service road: 50 amp power is available, there are no weekly or monthly rates in July, every reservation needs a confirmation number, and dogs over 30 lb are not allowed. Phone (307) 547-2244.
Curt Gowdy State Park
Curt Gowdy State Park, about 27 miles (43 km) or 50 minutes west of Frontier Park, has 178 campsites, and all are reservable from 15 May to 30 September at reserve.wyoming.gov or on 1-877-996-7275. Non-residents can book 113 days ahead, so sites for a 21 July 2027 arrival open on 30 March 2027 (residents get 120 days). Wyoming State Parks charges non-residents an US$18 base camping fee plus the US$12 daily vehicle fee and tax, and electric sites add US$10 a night. A reservation covers one vehicle. The park has no dump station, so use the free 24 hour dump station at the South East Wyoming Welcome Center, 5611 High Plains Road, Cheyenne.
How do you get to Cheyenne Frontier Days from Denver?
Cruise America's Denver depot is at 4180 Busch Place, Frederick, about 20 to 30 minutes from Denver International Airport. From there Frontier Park (4610 Carey Avenue, Cheyenne) is about 73 miles (118 km) north on I-25, and mapping estimates for a car are about 1 hour 20 minutes, so allow longer in a motorhome.

- From Salt Lake City: about 439 miles (707 km) or 7 hours 20 minutes by car on I-80, so allow a full day.
- Park-n-Ride: the festival's Park-n-Ride at I-25 and Happy Jack Road (exit 10D) costs US$20 a vehicle by credit card, with buses all day and a five minute ride to Frontier Park. The 2026 shuttle ran from 10:30am to 12:30am on most days.
- Downtown Express Shuttle: a free shuttle linked Frontier Park and downtown Cheyenne from noon to 8pm on most festival days in 2026, so you can leave the RV parked.

- Set a reminder for Curt Gowdy. Non-residents can book 113 days ahead, which is 30 March 2027 for a 21 July arrival.
- Leave the motorhome parked. Use the Park-n-Ride (US$20 a vehicle) or the free Downtown Express Shuttle, and remember the Frontier Park lots close at 1am.
