The Quartzsite Sports, Vacation and RV Show 2027 runs 15 to 23 January, 9am to 4pm daily, at 700 S Central Blvd in Quartzsite, Arizona, and entry and parking were free in 2026. The show offers no public camping, so most RVers dry camp on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, such as the La Posa Long Term Visitor Area (US$40 for 14 days), or stay at an RV park in town. In our live search on 19 October 2026 for 14 to 25 January 2027, Las Vegas pick-ups started from US$33.05 a day for a Travellers Autobarn Minivan and US$45.61 a night for a Cruise America motorhome. Las Vegas is the nearest CRG pick-up, about 201 miles (324 km) or 4 hours from Quartzsite.
Which rental brands suit the Quartzsite RV Show?
Two brands returned vans in our live search from Las Vegas for 14 to 25 January 2027: Cruise America and Travellers Autobarn. Los Angeles returned the same two brands and San Diego returned Cruise America only. Neither brand publishes a Quartzsite rule that we could find, so tell them your plans before you book.
- Cruise America (motorhomes): Class C motorhomes with a toilet, shower, fridge and holding tanks, shown as the Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4), Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5) and Large 30 ft (sleeps 7). These suit BLM desert camping best, because the La Posa LTVA is limited to self-contained units with a fixed holding tank of at least 10 gallons. Confirm the tank size with Cruise America. The generator costs US$3.50 an hour and mileage is charged per mile.
- Travellers Autobarn (campervans and minivans): Minivan (sleeps 4), Chubby (2), Hitop (3), Kuga (3), Beeva (2) and Hi5 (4), with unlimited miles. The vans have no toilet, so BLM does not treat them as self-contained. At La Posa you can only camp within 500 feet of a vault toilet, or you can stay at an RV park in town.
- Roads: Travellers Autobarn allows paved roads plus well-maintained access roads under 500 yards to campgrounds and parking, and unpaved roads may void cover. Cruise America says its damage waivers are void on unpaved back roads. Check the road to any desert camp before you drive in, and ask the brand if unsure.
Prefer a different pick-up? Compare Los Angeles RV hire or San Diego RV hire, or start with Las Vegas RV hire.
What does RV hire for the Quartzsite RV Show cost?
Rates in US$ from our live search on 19 October 2026 for a Las Vegas hire picking up Thursday 14 January and returning Monday 25 January 2027 (11 nights, 12 rental days). Cruise America quotes per night and Travellers Autobarn per rental day.
- Cruise America motorhomes, Las Vegas: Compact 21 ft, Standard 25 ft and Large 30 ft all US$45.61 a night (US$566.69 total).
- Travellers Autobarn, Las Vegas: Minivan US$33.05 a day (US$396.55 total), Chubby US$42.49, Hitop US$47.21, Kuga US$51.93, and Beeva and Hi5 US$61.37 a day (US$509.85 to US$736.45 total).
- Los Angeles, same dates: Travellers Autobarn the same as Las Vegas, and Cruise America US$46.59 a night for all three sizes (US$578.73 total).
- San Diego, same dates: Cruise America only, US$64.85 a night for the Compact and Standard (US$777.93 total) and US$71.32 for the Large (US$849.16 total).
These rates leave out several costs:
- Cruise America mileage: 39 cents a mile, with an estimate collected up front. Its Half Price Mileage Deal (down to 19 cents a mile, not for one-ways) applies to departures through 31 October 2027. Las Vegas to Quartzsite and back is about 400 miles (645 km) before any side trips. Travellers Autobarn includes unlimited miles.
- Generator time (Cruise America US$3.50 an hour), kits for bedding and cooking, insurance excess cover and one-way fees vary by brand.
- Camping: a La Posa LTVA short-visit permit is US$40 for 14 days, and RV parks in town set their own rates.
- Show entry and parking were free in 2026.
Where can you camp for the Quartzsite RV Show?
The show does not offer camping to the public. Its 2026 attendee FAQ points visitors to BLM dry camping next to and just south of the show grounds, and to the many RV parks in and around town, which fill up early because long-term guests have priority. BLM's Yuma Field Office manages the public land around Quartzsite.
La Posa Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA)
- Where: about 11,400 acres of flat desert in four areas (North, South, West and Tyson Wash), with entrances about 2 miles south of town on Highway 95. See the BLM La Posa page.
- Permits: a short-visit permit is US$40 for any 14 consecutive days between 15 September and 15 April and can be renewed without limit. A long-term permit is US$180 for the whole season or any part of it. Both are valid at every BLM LTVA, and America the Beautiful and similar passes do not discount them.
- Buying one: permits are sold at LTVA host entrance stations and BLM offices, not by mail. Stick the decal on the bottom right corner of the windshield.
- Facilities: 10 vault toilets, 8 water faucets, a dry dump station, a dump station with water and trash service. There are no hookups.
- Rules: self-contained units only (a fixed holding tank of 10 gallons or more, not a portable toilet), except within 500 feet of a vault toilet. Keep 15 feet between units, observe quiet hours from 10pm to 6am, keep generators to a reasonable noise level, do not leave a camp unoccupied for more than five days, and never dump gray water on the ground.
- Fees can change: a 2024 BLM draft business plan proposed higher LTVA fees. BLM's page still showed US$40 and US$180 in October 2026, so check before you go.
Free short-term BLM camping (14 day limit)
Outside the LTVA you can camp in one spot on undeveloped public land for up to 14 days in any 28 day period at no charge, unless signs say otherwise. After 14 days you must move to a new site more than 25 miles away. BLM says short-term camping near Quartzsite is limited to five designated areas. The show's camping list names Hi Jolly, Dome Rock, Plomosa Road, Scaddan Wash and Road Runner, but BLM does not publish a page for each, so call the Yuma Field Office on (928) 317-3200 to confirm. These areas have no water, dump or trash service.
RV parks in town
- Rice Ranch: the show names it as the large campground directly across the street from its main entrance on Central Blvd. Main park phone 928-927-4782.
- Rice Ranch North, 290 E Kuehn St: over 40 full hookup sites with 50 amp power, city water and sewer, 15 to 20 electric-only sites and dry camping spots, within walking distance of the show. Rates are on its booking site.
- The show's list of other parks includes River Sands, B10, Kofa Mountain, Split Rail, Tumbleweed, Desert Gardens, Crawford's, Coyote Pass and JR's. Book early for show week.
Dump stations and water
La Posa's dump stations and trash bins are for LTVA permit holders. Several RV parks and private stations in town also sell dumps and water for a fee, and some only serve their own guests, so ask first. Cruise America charges up to US$100 if you return a motorhome without emptying the holding tank.
How do you get to Quartzsite from Las Vegas?
The show grounds are at 700 S Central Blvd, Quartzsite, about 20 miles east of the California border on Interstate 10. From the Cruise America depot in Henderson it is about 201 miles (324 km), and from the Travellers Autobarn depot on W Sirius Ave about 214 miles (344 km). Mapping estimates for a car are about 3 hours 55 minutes and 4 hours 15 minutes, so allow longer in an RV.
- Route: take US-95 south past Searchlight to Needles, a short stretch of I-40 east, then US-95 south to Vidal Junction, CA-62 east to Parker and AZ-95 south to Quartzsite.
- Other pick-ups: Los Angeles is about 250 miles (402 km) from the Cruise America depot in Carson, roughly 4 hours 40 minutes via I-10 east. San Diego is about 231 miles (371 km), roughly 4 hours 20 minutes via I-8, CA-111, CA-78 and I-10.
- Parking at the show: parking was free in 2026 but there is no RV parking. Spaces are for cars and trucks, though the show says a Class B or similar small RV may fit. Nearby areas have deep, soft sand, so park at your own risk.
- Leave the motorhome at camp: with a 21 to 30 ft motorhome, stay at an RV park within walking distance of the show, or drive in early in a smaller van.

12 day Quartzsite RV Show trip from Las Vegas
Dates follow our search, Thursday 14 to Monday 25 January 2027. Drive times are mapping estimates for a car. Cruise America depots are closed on Sundays, so plan a Monday return.
Day 1: Thursday 14 January, Las Vegas
Collect your RV (Cruise America pick-ups are normally 1pm to 4pm, Travellers Autobarn 10am to 4pm). Stock up on food and water, then stay at a Las Vegas RV park or start south.
Day 2: Friday 15 January, drive to Quartzsite
Drive about 4 hours via US-95, CA-62 and AZ-95. Buy a La Posa short-visit permit (US$40 covers 14 days) at a host station and set up, or check in to your town RV park. The show opens at 9am on this first day.
Days 3 to 5: Saturday 16 to Monday 18 January, the show

Return the RV within its return window (Cruise America 9am to 11am, Travellers Autobarn 9am to 3pm), with tanks emptied and the interior clean.
Quartzsite RV Show tips
- Choose a self-contained motorhome for the desert. La Posa only allows self-contained units with a fixed holding tank, except within 500 feet of a vault toilet, so a campervan without a toilet suits an RV park better.
- Check roads before you leave the pavement. Both rental brands restrict unpaved roads, so ask before driving to dispersed desert camps.
- Book RV parks early. The show warns that town parks fill up very early because long-term guests have priority.
- Arrive full and empty. Fill fresh water and empty tanks before you set up, and carry trash out. Dumping gray water on the ground is banned.
- Pack for cold nights. NOAA normals for Quartzsite in January are a high of 67°F (19°C) and a low of 40°F (5°C).
- Keep generator use modest. Cruise America charges US$3.50 an hour and LTVA quiet hours run 10pm to 6am.
