The Montreal International Jazz Festival (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal) holds its 47th edition from 25 June to 4 July 2027 in the Quartier des Spectacles, around Place des Arts in downtown Montreal. There is no camping or RV parking at the festival, so base your motorhome at a campground such as KOA Montréal Sud in Saint-Philippe, about 30 km (19 miles) from the site, or Parc national d'Oka, and ride the REM light rail and metro in. In our live search for 23 June to 5 July 2027, Cruise Canada motorhomes from its Saint-Eustache depot near Montreal start at C$233 a night before kilometre charges.
Which rental brands suit the Montreal Jazz Festival?
One brand returned vans in our live search for a Montreal pick-up: Cruise Canada (the Canadian arm of Cruise America), from its depot at 705 Rue Dubois in Saint-Eustache, north-west of the city. It offered all four of its motorhomes for the festival dates: the Ultra Compact 18 ft (sleeps 2), Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4), Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5) and Large 30 ft (sleeps 7). All four have a toilet, shower and fridge, so you can stay comfortably at a campground outside the city and commute to the shows.
CanaDream also has a Montreal depot in Mirabel, but it returned no vehicles in our search for these dates, so we cannot offer it for the festival right now. If it reappears, note that CanaDream's own FAQ says parking its vehicles is prohibited in the greater metropolitan areas of Montreal and Ottawa.
- Which size? The festival is a city event, so you will drive to a campground and leave the motorhome there. A smaller rig is easier on the bridges and in campground loops, while the Large 30 ft suits a group of up to 7.
- Power: in Canada only the Large 30 ft has a generator. Cruise America says the Ultra Compact needs external power for its 120 V furnace and air conditioning, so book a campsite with electricity.
- Cancellations: Cruise America's FAQ says that in areas where special events such as music festivals occur, cancelling within 45 days of pick-up forfeits your down payment. It does not say whether this applies to Montreal, so ask before you book.
Compare these motorhomes for your dates on our Montreal motorhome and campervan page.
What does Montreal Jazz Festival RV rental cost?
Live prices from the Campervan Rental Guide search for a Montreal pick-up on Wednesday 23 June 2027 and return on Monday 5 July 2027 (12 nights, covering the whole festival), searched on 19 October 2026. Prices are Canadian dollars per night, with the total for 12 nights.
- Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4): C$233.01 a night, C$2,865.10 total
- Large 30 ft (sleeps 7): C$242.91 a night, C$2,983.79 total
- Ultra Compact 18 ft (sleeps 2): C$247.04 a night, C$3,033.45 total
- Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5): C$247.61 a night, C$3,040.25 total
All four sizes sit within about C$15 a night of each other for these dates, and the Large 30 ft costs less than the Ultra Compact.
What is not in those prices
- Kilometres: Cruise America's FAQ says Canadian rentals are charged for an estimated 160 km per night (1,920 km over 12 nights) at 39 cents per kilometre, collected up front, with extra kilometres charged and unused ones refunded at return. The FAQ does not state the currency. A Half Price Mileage Deal (promo code FRDM) is listed for departures through 31 October 2027.
- Kits: a Personal Kit is listed at 75 dollars per person and a Vehicle Provisioning Kit (cookware, crockery, cutlery, kettle) at 125 dollars per vehicle, currency not stated.
- Generator: the Large 30 ft generator is listed at 3.50 dollars an hour, currency not stated.
- Tank dump: a holding tank not emptied before return can add a charge of up to 100 dollars. Every campground below has a waste water dump.
- Campsites: Bonjour Québec lists maximum 2026 nightly campsite rates of C$150 at KOA Montréal Sud, C$66 at Camping Alouette and C$70.65 at Parc national d'Oka. 2027 rates were not published when we checked.
- Festival and transit: the festival mixes free outdoor shows with ticketed concerts. The 2027 programme was not announced when we checked. REM, metro, taxi and parking costs are extra.
Where to camp in an RV for the Montreal Jazz Festival
The festival takes over the streets and squares of the Quartier des Spectacles in downtown Montreal. There is no festival campground and no RV parking on site, and the festival recommends public transport. The practical plan is to book a serviced campground on the edge of the city, leave the motorhome there and ride the REM light rail or metro in.
KOA Montréal Sud, Saint-Philippe (closest to downtown)
- Location: 130 Montée Monette, Saint-Philippe, on the South Shore. Bonjour Québec, Quebec's official tourism site, calls it the closest campground to downtown Montreal, about 24 km from the main attractions.
- Distance: about 30 km (19 miles), 31 minutes, to the festival site, and 14 km (9 miles) to the REM Brossard terminus.
- Sites and hookups: 180 campsites with 30 and 50 amp electricity, a waste water dump, laundry, outdoor pool and convenience store. The listing says sites suit recreational vehicles, including the largest.
- Season and price: 1 May to 15 October in 2026, with 2027 dates to be announced. The maximum 2026 campsite rate is C$150 a night.
Camping Alouette (Parkbridge), Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil
- Location: 3449 chemin de l'Industrie, east of the city, about 31 km (19 miles) from the festival site and 25 km (16 miles) from Longueuil metro station.
- Sites and hookups: 351 campsites with 30 and 50 amp electricity, a waste water dump, laundry and a heated outdoor pool. Bonjour Québec lists it as open year round, with public transport nearby and a maximum campsite rate of C$66 a night.
Parc national d'Oka (Sépaq)
- Location: 2020 chemin d'Oka on Lac des Deux Montagnes, only 22 km (14 miles) from the Cruise Canada depot and 16 km (10 miles) from the REM Deux-Montagnes terminus.
- Sites and hookups: 825 campsites, serviced and unserviced, with 15 and 30 amp electricity, a waste water dump, propane, laundry, a store and a beach.
- Season and price: 24 April to 1 November in 2026, with a maximum 2026 campsite rate of C$70.65 a night. Book through Sépaq.
Parking an RV in the city
- Street limits: the City of Montreal says that in Ville-Marie, the downtown borough that hosts the festival, no vehicle may stay on the street for more than 24 hours. Several other boroughs, including Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie and Le Sud-Ouest, limit recreational vehicles to 24 hours, while others allow longer stays or set no limit. Signs, meters and resident zones still apply.
- REM park and ride lots: the REM regulation bans parking a vehicle across more than one marked space or for more than 24 hours in a row. A motorhome that does not fit one car space should stay at the campground.
- Near the site: the festival lists paid parking lots near the site, but downtown streets are busy during the event, so we suggest leaving the motorhome at camp.
Book early. Two public holidays, the Fête nationale on 24 June and Canada Day on 1 July, fall inside the festival period.
Getting to the Montreal Jazz Festival from your campground
The festival site centres on Place des Arts and the Place des Festivals in the Quartier des Spectacles. The festival's own advice is to use public transport: the closest metro stations are Place-des-Arts and Saint-Laurent on the green line and Place-d'Armes on the orange line.
- Picking up: Cruise Canada's Montreal depot is at 705 Rue Dubois, Saint-Eustache, about 29 km (18 miles) and 30 minutes from Montréal-Trudeau airport (YUL). Cruise Canada does not offer airport transfers, so take a taxi or rideshare. Pick-up is normally 1 PM to 4 PM.
- From KOA Montréal Sud: take a taxi or rideshare about 14 km (9 miles) to the REM Brossard terminus, ride the REM across the Samuel De Champlain Bridge to McGill station, then walk east to the site or take the green line one stop to Place-des-Arts.
- From Parc national d'Oka: get to the REM Deux-Montagnes terminus, about 16 km (10 miles) away, and ride the REM to McGill. The Deux-Montagnes branch opened in November 2025 and the station has a 945 space park and ride, but motorhomes must fit one marked space.
- From Camping Alouette: it is about 25 km (16 miles) to Longueuil metro station. Take the yellow line to Berri-UQAM, then the green line to Saint-Laurent or Place-des-Arts.
- Driving in: the depot is about 39 km (24 miles), 40 minutes, from the festival site, but we do not recommend taking a motorhome downtown during the festival. Ville-Marie limits street parking to 24 hours for every vehicle.
- Late shows: check last train times on rem.info and stm.info before you go, and arrange your ride back to the campground in advance.
Drive times are free-flow estimates from OSRM. Compare pick-ups on our Montreal page and see the festival's Plan your stay page.
A 12 night Montreal Jazz Festival road trip through Quebec
This plan matches our live search: pick up Wednesday 23 June, return Monday 5 July 2027. It catches both festival weekends and adds Mont-Tremblant, Quebec City and the Eastern Townships in between. Cruise Canada centres are closed on Sundays and holidays, which rules out 24 June and 1 July for pick-up or return. Book campgrounds early and check each park's 2027 season dates.
Day 1 (Wed 23 June): Pick up and head to Mont-Tremblant
Collect your motorhome in Saint-Eustache in the afternoon and drive about 117 km (73 miles, around 1 hour 45 minutes) to the La Diable sector of Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, Quebec's oldest provincial park. Its campground has 669 sites with 15 and 30 amp electricity and a dump station.
Day 2 (Thu 24 June): Mont-Tremblant on the Fête nationale
Hike or paddle around Lac Monroe and the Chute du Diable on Quebec's national holiday.
Day 3 (Fri 25 June): To Oka for opening night
Drive about 135 km (84 miles, around 2 hours) to Parc national d'Oka, set up, then head to the REM at Deux-Montagnes for the festival's opening evening.
Days 4 and 5 (Sat 26 and Sun 27 June): First festival weekend
Spend the mornings on Oka's beach and the evenings downtown at the outdoor stages.
Day 6 (Mon 28 June): Quebec City
Drive about 306 km (190 miles, around 4 hours) to Camping de la Joie, about 15 minutes from Old Québec. It has sites with water and electricity up to 50 amps and a shuttle to Old Québec for C$10 a trip.
Day 7 (Tue 29 June): Old Québec
Walk the fortified walls of Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, past the Château Frontenac and down to Petit-Champlain.
Day 8 (Wed 30 June): Into the Eastern Townships
Drive about 268 km (166 miles, around 3 hours 30 minutes) to the Lac-Stukely campground in Parc national du Mont-Orford, which has 263 sites with 30 and 50 amp electricity and a dump station.
Day 9 (Thu 1 July): Canada Day around Lake Memphremagog
Visit Magog and the Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, where the monks sell their cheese and cider, or swim and paddle at Lac Stukely.
Day 10 (Fri 2 July): Back to Montreal
Drive about 125 km (78 miles, around 1 hour 40 minutes) to KOA Montréal Sud, then take the REM from Brossard for the final weekend.
Days 11 and 12 (Sat 3 and Sun 4 July): Closing weekend
Catch the last shows of the festival. Empty your tanks on Sunday so you are ready to go.
Day 13 (Mon 5 July): Return
Drive about 56 km (35 miles, 50 minutes) to Saint-Eustache and return between 9 AM and 11 AM. That makes about 1,000 km (620 miles) of driving, well under the 1,920 km Cruise Canada estimates up front, so you should get a refund on unused kilometres.
Tips for the Montreal Jazz Festival in an RV
- Book the campground first. The festival has no camping, and the Fête nationale (24 June) and Canada Day (1 July) both fall during it, so reserve your campsite before your motorhome.
- Leave the motorhome at camp. Ville-Marie limits street parking to 24 hours and REM lots allow only one marked space per vehicle, so commute by REM and metro.
- Book a powered site. Only the Large 30 ft has a generator in Canada, and the Ultra Compact needs shore power for its furnace and air conditioning.
- Avoid Sunday and holiday pick-ups. Cruise Canada centres are closed on Sundays and holidays, so plan around 24 June, 1 July and the Sundays in between.
- Plan your late ride home. Shows run into the night, so check last train times and book a taxi back to the campground ahead of time.
- Watch for the 2027 programme. The line-up and free outdoor schedule were not announced when we checked, so sign up for the festival newsletter on the official site.
