The CTMP Grand Prix 2027, officially the Chevrolet Grand Prix, brings the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (the former Mosport) near Bowmanville, Ontario, from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 July 2027. You can camp at the track in a motorhome: in 2026 an RV Camping pass cost C$100 at the gate and a reserved trackside site C$215, on dry sites with no hookups. In our live search for 6 to 13 July 2027, Cruise Canada motorhomes from Toronto start at C$247 a night. The circuit is about 109 km (68 miles) from the Cruise Canada depot in Bolton, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes by road.
Which rental brands suit the CTMP Grand Prix?
One brand returned vans in our live search for a Toronto pick-up: Cruise Canada (the Canadian arm of Cruise America). It offers four motorhomes from its depot at 12275 Highway 50 in Bolton: the Ultra Compact 18 ft (sleeps 2), Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4), Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5) and Large 30 ft (sleeps 7). All four have a toilet, shower and fridge, which matters at CTMP because the campsites are dry sites with no power or water.
CanaDream is the other big Canadian brand, but it returned no vehicles in our search for these dates, so we cannot offer it for the Grand Prix right now.
- Which pass you need: CTMP sells RV Camping passes for motorhomes and hard-bodied trailers, and cheaper General Camping passes for tents and pop-up trailers. Any Cruise Canada motorhome needs the RV pass.
- Power: CTMP has no electrical hookups. In Canada only the Large 30 ft has a generator, so it is the pick if you want air conditioning on a hot July weekend. Cruise America says the Ultra Compact needs external power for its 120 V furnace and air conditioning, which you will not have at the track.
- Size: CTMP does not publish a length limit for RV sites, and its camping areas range from trackside spots to open fields and treed backwoods. A smaller rig is easier to place in the treed areas.
- Cancellations: Cruise America's FAQ says that for areas where special events occur, cancelling within 45 days of pick-up forfeits your reservation down payment. It does not say whether this applies to Ontario, so ask before you book.
- Track partner: CTMP's camping page promotes Owasco RV Rentals with a CTMP discount code. Owasco is not one of the brands we compare.
Compare these vehicles for your dates on our Toronto motorhome and campervan page.
What does CTMP Grand Prix RV rental cost?
Live prices from the Campervan Rental Guide search for a Toronto pick-up on Tuesday 6 July 2027 and return on Tuesday 13 July 2027 (7 nights), searched on 19 October 2026. Prices are Canadian dollars per night, with the total for 7 nights.
- Ultra Compact 18 ft (sleeps 2): C$247.27 a night, C$1,798.61 total
- Compact 21 ft (sleeps 4): C$268.07 a night, C$1,944.22 total
- Standard 25 ft (sleeps 5): C$302.25 a night, C$2,183.47 total
- Large 30 ft (sleeps 7): C$303.33 a night, C$2,191.04 total
The Large 30 ft cost only about a dollar a night more than the Standard 25 ft in this search, and it is the only one with a generator.
What is not in those prices
- Kilometres: Cruise America's FAQ says Canadian rentals are charged for an estimated 160 km per night (1,120 km over 7 nights) at 39 cents per kilometre, collected up front, with extra kilometres charged and unused ones refunded at return. The FAQ does not state the currency. The trip plan below covers only about 320 km, so most of that estimate should come back. A Half Price Mileage Deal (promo code FRDM) is listed for departures through 31 October 2027.
- Kits: a Personal Kit is listed at 75 dollars per person and a Vehicle Provisioning Kit (cookware, crockery, cutlery, kettle) at 125 dollars per vehicle, currency not stated.
- Generator: the Large 30 ft generator is listed at 3.50 dollars an hour, currency not stated.
- Tank dump: a holding tank not emptied before return can add a charge of up to 100 dollars.
- Tolls: the fastest route from Bolton uses the privately run 407 ETR toll road. Ask Cruise Canada how tolls are billed, or take the toll-free route described below.
- Track tickets and camping: in 2026, gate prices were C$100 for a Weekend Super Ticket per adult and C$100 for an RV Camping pass, and reserved trackside sites were C$215. Prices included HST, with processing fees extra. 2027 prices are not yet published.
RV camping at the CTMP Grand Prix
Camping at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, still searched for as Mosport camping, is part of the Grand Prix tradition. The track says its grounds take everything from tents and pop-up trailers to RVs, with spots ranging from trackside to open fields and well-treed backwoods. CTMP's Grand Prix page still shows the 2026 event (10 to 12 July 2026), so the details below are the latest published and may change for 2027. Check the official camping page before you go.
Passes and 2026 prices
- RV Camping pass: covers motorhomes and hard-bodied trailers. C$100 at the gate in 2026, including HST, plus processing fees.
- General Camping pass: tents and pop-up trailers, C$85 at the gate in 2026.
- Reserved Camping: a limited number of reserved trackside sites at C$215. They were sold out for 2026, so buy early when 2027 passes go on sale. All other camping is first come, first served.
- Tickets on top: camping fees are per sleeping unit and allow one vehicle and up to six guests per site, with at least one guest aged 18 or over. Every guest also needs a Weekend Super Ticket (C$100 at the gate in 2026). Children 16 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
Facilities and rules
- Dry camping: no electrical or water hookups. Generators may run from 8 AM to 11 PM, and quiet hours are 11 PM to 8 AM.
- Dumping: there is a designated grey water disposal area in the infield, and CTMP's FAQ lists a dump station below the infield showers.
- Showers and washrooms: two full-service blocks with showers, one in the infield south of the paddock between Corners 1 and 2, and one on the outfield side of the Canadian Tire Bridge near Corner 8. Both have playgrounds nearby, and CTMP also has a quieter Family Camping area.
- Campfires: small fires are allowed unless a local fire ban is in place, and a vendor sells firewood around the camping areas.
- What you can bring: your own food and alcohol, but no glass containers. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Fireworks, ATVs, golf carts, dirt bikes and drones are banned, and the speed limit in camping areas is 15 km/h.
Arrival
- Thursday opening: in 2026 the gates opened for camping on the Thursday at 10:30 AM. Reserved camping holders and staging started at 8:30 AM.
- Staging: RVs that arrive early check in at the Main Entrance and wait in a designated staging area. You must stay with your vehicle, and parking at the entrances or on the roadside is not allowed.
- Will Call: passes bought ahead are collected at the Registration Centre just inside the Main Gate, with valid ID.
- Departure: CTMP does not publish a Monday check-out time, so confirm it if you plan to stay Sunday night.
Campgrounds nearby
- Darlington Provincial Park, Bowmanville: about 29 km (18 miles) south of the track on Lake Ontario, with 135 electrical sites, 100 RV pull-through sites, showers, a dump and fill station and a long sandy beach.
- Emily Provincial Park, Omemee: about 43 km (27 miles) north in the Kawarthas, with 170 electrical sites and a dump and fill station.
Both parks take bookings through Ontario Parks, and their 2027 season dates were not yet published when we checked.
Getting from Toronto to the CTMP Grand Prix
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is at 3233 Concession Road 10, north of Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington, Durham Region. The track describes it as about an hour's drive from downtown Toronto, and there is no public transport to the circuit.
- From the Cruise Canada depot (12275 Highway 50, Bolton): about 109 km (68 miles), around 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic. The fastest route takes Highway 427 and then about 79 km of the 407 ETR, a privately run toll road with electronic billing.
- Toll-free alternative from Bolton: Highway 427 south to Highway 401 east, then Highway 412 north to Highway 407 East. Highway 412 has been toll-free since April 2022, and the section of Highway 407 East from Brock Road to Highway 35/115 has been toll-free since 1 June 2025. This route is about 127 km (79 miles), around 1 hour 45 minutes.
- From Toronto Pearson airport: about 106 km (66 miles), around 1 hour 20 minutes via Highways 401, 412 and 407 East. The depot is about 24 km (15 miles) from the airport and Cruise Canada does not offer airport transfers.
- From downtown Toronto (Union Station): about 96 km (60 miles), around 1 hour 15 minutes via the Don Valley Parkway and Highway 401.
- The last stretch: leave the highway for Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) north, then Regional Road 20 east to the track.
- Parking: parking is included with an event ticket, and Will Call is at the Registration Centre inside the Main Gate.
Drive times are free-flow estimates from OSRM. Allow extra time for Toronto traffic, and aim to clear the city early on the Thursday. Compare pick-ups on our Toronto page and see CTMP's Chevrolet Grand Prix page for gate times.
A 7 night CTMP Grand Prix road trip from Toronto
This plan matches our live search: pick up Tuesday 6 July, return Tuesday 13 July 2027. Cruise Canada centres are closed on Sundays, and pick-up is normally 1 PM to 4 PM with drop-off 9 AM to 11 AM. Provincial park season dates for 2027 were not yet published, so check them before you book.
Day 1 (Tue 6 Jul): Pick up and head to the Kawarthas
Collect your motorhome in Bolton and drive about 150 km (93 miles, around 2 hours) to Emily Provincial Park near Omemee, which has 170 electrical sites.
Day 2 (Wed 7 Jul): Emily Provincial Park
Enjoy a slow day in the Kawarthas lakes. Before you leave, fill your fresh water tank at the park's dump and fill station and stock up on groceries, ice and fuel, because CTMP is dry camping.
Day 3 (Thu 8 Jul): Into the track
Drive about 43 km (27 miles, 45 minutes) to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. In 2026 the gates opened for camping at 10:30 AM on the Thursday, so arrive early, claim a good spot and settle in.
Day 4 (Fri 9 Jul): First day of track action
Walk the circuit, explore the paddock (included with your ticket) and the CTMP Marketplace, and use the free fan shuttles to reach different corners.
Day 5 (Sat 10 Jul): Support races
In 2026 Saturday featured the Michelin Pilot Challenge race with an Open Grid Walk on pit lane beforehand. Watch from Moss Corner or the infield.
Day 6 (Sun 11 Jul): Race day
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race is the headline. In 2026 fans could join the Open Grid Walk before the start.
Day 7 (Mon 12 Jul): Lake Ontario
Pack up and drive about 29 km (18 miles, 30 minutes) to Darlington Provincial Park on Lake Ontario. Empty your tanks at the dump station, plug into an electrical site and spend the afternoon on the beach.
Day 8 (Tue 13 Jul): Return
Drive about 96 km (60 miles, around 1 hour 15 minutes) back to Bolton via Highways 401 and 427, toll-free, and return the motorhome between 9 AM and 11 AM. Leave early to beat Toronto traffic, as Cruise America's FAQ lists a late return charge of 25 dollars an hour after 11 AM.
Tips for the CTMP Grand Prix in an RV
- Book a reserved site early. Reserved trackside camping sold out in 2026. Everything else is first come, first served, so arrive on the Thursday for the best choice.
- Plan for dry camping. There are no hookups. Arrive with full fresh water, empty holding tanks and a full fuel tank, and remember generators must be off from 11 PM to 8 AM.
- Pick the Large 30 ft for July heat. It is the only Cruise Canada model with a generator, and in our search it cost about the same as the Standard 25 ft.
- Budget for everyone's ticket. The camping pass covers the site only. Every adult needs a Weekend Super Ticket, while children 16 and under get in free.
- Leave the glass at home. CTMP bans glass containers, fireworks and drones, so pack cans and plastic.
- Watch the toll road. The quickest route from Bolton uses the 407 ETR. Ask Cruise Canada how tolls are charged, or use Highway 401 and toll-free 407 East.
