1) What is Campervan Rental Guide?

We’re an independent comparison site for campervan and motorhome hire across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. We pull live prices from leading brands so you can compare vehicles, inclusions and the real total price in one place.

2) Do you charge any fees? How do you make money?

No booking fee from us. If you book through our links, we may earn a commission from our partners—this doesn’t change the price you pay.

3) Who processes my payment? Is my card safe?

Bookings are completed via a third party secure booking platform. Credit card details are encrypted and processed by the payment providers—we don’t collect or store your full card number. Our website is also protected by HTTPS/TLS.

4) Are the prices “all in”?

We show the real total where possible—including base rate and key mandatory fees. Optional items (e.g., insurance waivers, extras) are shown clearly before you check out with the rental brand.

5) What insurance options are available? What’s an “excess/bond”?

Most brands offer optional damage-reduction waivers that lower your excess (the amount you’d pay if the vehicle is damaged). A refundable bond/security deposit is usually taken on pickup. The exact amounts vary by brand and vehicle; you’ll see them before booking.

6) Can I do a one-way rental?

Often yes—between major depots. One-way fees may apply and are shown in your quote where relevant.

7) What licence and age do I need?

A full, valid driver’s licence is required. Minimum age is typically 21–25 depending on the brand/vehicle. Some brands accept international licences; some may require an International Driving Permit. We’ll highlight each brand’s rules during search/booking.

8) Can I add extra drivers?

Usually yes. Additional driver fees and licence rules vary by brand. We’ll flag any extra cost before checkout.

9) How do changes or cancellations work?

Changes and cancellations are handled by the rental provider you book with, under their terms. We’ll link you to the correct policy in your booking and can help you reach the right team.

10) Why book through Campervan Rental Guide instead of going direct?

Speed and transparency. You compare multiple brands in one search, see genuine totals and discover one-way/long-hire deals. Plus because of the volume of business we do we are often much cheaper than booking direct.

11) Are you independent? Do brands pay to be ranked higher?

We’re independent. Listings are based on your search criteria (dates, locations, vehicle type) and live availability/pricing—not pay-to-win placement.

12) What if the vehicle I want is “sold out”?

Try nearby dates or depots, or switch to a similar berth size. Our team can also suggest equivalent models and brands that fit your route.

13) Can I get child seats, GPS, snow chains or other extras?

Yes, most brands offer add-ons. Availability and pricing appear before you complete the booking with the provider.

14) Do you operate outside Australia?

Yes—Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Popular cities include Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Christchurch, Los Angeles and more.
