Woodford Folk Festival 2026/27 runs from 27 December 2026 to 1 January 2027 at Woodfordia, about 1.5 hours north of Brisbane, and you can camp on site in a campervan with a Season with Camping ticket (from $710 for an adult) and a $35 Sleeping in Vehicle pass. Powered sites for RVs cost an extra $750 (small) or $850 (large), with no water hookup and a 25 metre power lead required. In our live search for 24 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, Brisbane campervan hire starts from about $80 a day, with Apollo, Britz, Campervan Village, Camperman, Jucy, Maui, Mighty, Spaceships and Star RV all showing vans.

Which rental brands suit Woodford Folk Festival?

Nine brands we compare returned campervans or motorhomes from Brisbane in our live search for 24 December 2026 to 2 January 2027: Apollo, Britz, Campervan Village, Camperman, Jucy, Maui, Mighty, Spaceships and Star RV. We found no festival-specific rental rules for Woodford, so read each brand's terms on unsealed roads and campground driving before you book. The festival's own rules matter more: one vehicle per campsite, no generators and no fires.

  • Budget two to four sleepers: Campervan Village (Mini Camper with a rooftop tent, Aventus, Johnny Feelgood, Alice Chillgood), Jucy (Chill'd Cloudbreak, Crib Plus), Spaceships (Alpha, Beta) and Mighty (HiLITE, Highball, DeLITE) suit couples and small groups who will use the festival showers and toilets.
  • Self-contained with shower and toilet: Camperman Maxie 4, Mighty Duo and Deuce, Apollo Euro Mini and Euro Tourer, Britz Trailblazer, Star RV Polaris 2 and Maui Ultima Plus suit travellers who want a bathroom on board and fewer shower queues.
  • Four to six berths for families and groups: Britz Voyager and Warrior 4WD, Spaceships Beta 4 Berth, Mighty Double Up and Big Six, Apollo Euro Quest, Euro Camper and Euro Deluxe, Jucy Chill'd Big Kahuna, Maui Sunset and Star RV Polaris 6.
  • Powered site: our results do not say which vans have a 240V inlet or supply a power lead, so ask the brand before you buy a powered site. Woodfordia's wording is caravans, RVs, buses and camper trailers.

Travellers Autobarn and Auto-Sleepers appear in our Brisbane operator list but returned no vans for these dates, so we do not list them as bookable. Our Brisbane search lets you change the drop-off city if you want a one-way hire after the festival.

How much does campervan hire for Woodford Folk Festival cost?

Prices below are in Australian dollars per day from our live Brisbane search, picking up Thursday 24 December 2026 and returning Saturday 2 January 2027. Most vehicles showed Available Now with instant confirmation, and the Campervan Village Grip 4x4 showed on request. The results page also shows a total for the hire period, for example $1,067.29 for the Campervan Village Mini Camper and $1,009.22 for the Jucy Chill'd Cloudbreak.

  • Two sleepers without a toilet: about $89 to $274 a day (Campervan Village Aventus to Britz Maverick).
  • Three to four sleepers without a toilet: about $80 to $279 a day (Campervan Village Mini Camper, Jucy Crib Plus and Chill'd Sunseeker, Spaceships Beta 4 Berth, Britz Voyager and Warrior 4WD).
  • Two sleepers with shower and toilet: about $240 to $344 a day (Mighty Duo, Apollo Euro Mini, Britz Trailblazer, Star RV Polaris 2, Maui Ultima Plus).
  • Four sleepers with shower and toilet: about $193 to $501 a day (Camperman Maxie 4, Mighty Double Up, Apollo Euro Quest, Maui Cascade).
  • Six sleepers: about $384 to $586 a day (Mighty Big Six, Apollo Euro Deluxe, Jucy Chill'd Big Kahuna, Maui Sunset, Star RV Polaris 6).

These rates leave out insurance excess options, one-way fees, extras such as camping kits and power leads, and fuel. They also leave out the festival's own costs, which Woodfordia publishes in Australian dollars: an adult Season with Camping ticket is $710 in the current pre-sale round (until 24 December), $738 online during the festival and $766 at the gate. A Sleeping in Vehicle pass is $35, a small powered site is $750 and a large powered site is $850. Purchases also carry a $3.50 booking fee per ticket and a 2.0 per cent infrastructure fee. Prices change as ticket rounds sell out, so check the official ticket prices page.

Woodford camping in a campervan: passes, powered sites and rules

You can camp at Woodfordia in a campervan, motorhome, caravan or camper trailer, but you must hold a festival ticket with camping, and the festival does not sell single-night camping tickets. All details below come from Woodfordia's official camping, parking and FAQ pages, checked in October 2026.

Which ticket and vehicle pass do I need?

  • Season with Camping ticket: valid for all six days, 27 December to 1 January. Campers can set up from 26 December and depart on 2 January. An adult ticket is $710 in the pre-sale round, with the two earlier early bird rounds exhausted.
  • Sleeping in Vehicle pass, $35: required if you sleep in the vehicle you arrive in. Woodfordia says it is valid for cars, motorhomes, buses and RVs and covers your vehicle, so no other pass is needed. It also applies to a rooftop tent on a vehicle.
  • Vehicle at Campsite pass, $100: for season campers who keep a car at their campsite, for example beside a tent. Only one vehicle is allowed per campsite.
  • Day with Camping ticket, $190 pre-sale: lets you camp overnight in the Overnight Campgrounds, where the Overnight Campgrounds vehicle pass is $30 and you may sleep in your vehicle.
  • Christmas Day camping: an extra-cost add-on for Season ticket holders only (adult $155 for 8am entry or $125 for 1pm entry), bought before you arrive. Camping on 25 December is not available at the gate.

Powered sites for RVs and campervans

  • Price and sizes: Small $750 (6 m by 8 m, and 6 m by 6 m in Outer Barcoo) and Large $850 (8 m by 10 m). They are an add-on for Season with Camping ticket holders only, on top of your ticket and vehicle pass.
  • Locations: Parklands, Butterfly Valley, Outer Barcoo (Greenzone) and Strawberry Fields (Greenzone), all inside the season campgrounds on the main festival site. You choose the location when you buy.
  • Greenzone: a trial area where powered sites run on battery-assisted generators, to cut noise and emissions.
  • Power: bring a lead of at least 25 metres, tested and tagged. Outlets take both 10 amp and 15 amp connections. Power is not available to tents.
  • Water: there is no water connection at powered sites, so fill your tanks before you arrive. Woodfordia says the on-site water is treated and potable.
  • Vehicle length: Reserved Camping Area sites are 8 m by 10 m ($320 add-on). Woodfordia asks campers or RVs longer than 10 metres to ring the office on 07 5496 1066.
  • Dump point: the closest is at the Woodford Showgrounds, about 5 minutes from the festival site.

Campground rules to know

  • Sites are not allocated and run first in, first served. Do not lay tarps to hold space for friends, as security will remove them.
  • Generators, fires, glass and animals are not allowed in the campgrounds. Pets stay home unless they are registered assistance animals.
  • Showers and toilets are in all campgrounds but are described as basic, with queues in the mornings and late afternoons. A General Store opens on 25 December from 2pm to 6pm, from 26 December to 1 January from 7am to 11pm, and on 2 January from 7am to 2pm.
  • Ground is not perfectly level and the trees are still small, so shade is limited. Expect heat, dust, summer storms and music late into the night.

Camping near Woodford if you are not on site

Woodfordia lists the Woodford Showgrounds (5 minutes away), Running Creek Parklands at Stanmore, Bushy Brown's Adventure Ski Park (via Hipcamp) and Neurum Creek Bush Retreat (about 15 minutes) as local options. From these you drive to the festival day park and take the free shuttle in, using a $30 Long-Term / Day Parking pass. Check availability and prices with each site. More on the official camping page.

How to get from Brisbane to Woodford Folk Festival

Woodfordia is about an hour and a half by road north of Brisbane, roughly 90 km, according to the festival, and 40 minutes west of Caloundra or an hour south of Noosa. Woodfordia's driving directions from the south are:

  • Take the Bruce Highway north from Brisbane and use Exit 152B to Kilcoy, not 152A towards Caboolture.
  • Follow the D'Aguilar Highway through Woodford.
  • Four kilometres after Woodford, turn right onto Kilcoy-Beerwah Road, then after one kilometre turn left into Woodrow Road.

Arrive at the Eastern Bloc drive-through wristband gates on Woodrow Road to collect your wristband and vehicle pass, then drive to your allocated or chosen site in the season campgrounds. Shuttles run from 6am on 26 December. For Christmas Day entry, patrons with an 8am ticket may queue from 2pm on 24 December and patrons with a 1pm ticket from 11am on 25 December, and earlier arrivals are turned away.

Where to pick up your campervan

  • Britz and Mighty: 733 Nudgee Road, Northgate. Mighty lists 8am to 3:30pm and Britz lists 9am to 3:30pm, every day. Both say all branches close on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and that you must collect or return at least one hour before closing.
  • Jucy: 769 Kingsford Smith Drive, Eagle Farm. It lists 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, and does not state its Christmas closures.
  • Other brands: check Apollo, Maui, Camperman, Campervan Village, Spaceships and Star RV depot hours for 24 December and 2 January when you book.

With depots closed on 25 December and 1 January, plan to collect on Thursday 24 December and return on Saturday 2 January. Leave Woodfordia early on 2 January, as the drive takes around 1.5 hours plus Saturday depot cut-offs. Our Sunshine Coast search currently returns the same Brisbane pickups. If you would rather not drive, the Woodford Festival Express coach runs from Brisbane's Roma Street, Chermside and North Lakes on 26 December, with $60 return fares. Start from our Brisbane campervan hire page and see the official getting here page.

A 10 day Woodford Folk Festival campervan trip from Brisbane

This plan matches our search dates, collecting on 24 December 2026 and returning on 2 January 2027, and arrives on 26 December when camping set-up opens. Book your festival ticket, vehicle pass and any powered site first.

Day 1 (Thursday 24 December): Collect your campervan

Pick up in Brisbane in the morning, well before the depot's last collection time, and stock up on food, water and ice. Book a holiday park or one of the camping options near Woodford for the night, as it is peak season.

Day 2 (Friday 25 December): Christmas Day

Depots are closed today. If you bought a Christmas Day entry add-on with your Season ticket, a 1pm entry queue opens at 11am. Otherwise relax near the Glass House Mountains, which Woodfordia says you can see from the hilltop above the festival grounds.

Day 3 (Saturday 26 December): Arrive and set up

Camping set-up opens for season campers. Collect your wristband and pass at the Eastern Bloc gates, find your site and fill your water tanks before you arrive.

Day 4 (Sunday 27 December): Opening Ceremony

The festival opens with its Opening Ceremony. Pick up the programme, then use the free shuttle between the campgrounds and the festival precinct.

Days 5 to 7 (28 to 30 December): Music, workshops and circus

The festival has more than 1,500 shows across more than 25 venues. Workshop bookings open online when the programme launches in mid-October, so book popular sessions early.

Day 8 (Thursday 31 December): New Year's Eve

Plan your evening around the programme and expect noise in the campgrounds late into the night. Pack earplugs.

Day 9 (Friday 1 January): Closing Ceremony

The festival closes with its Closing Ceremony. Start packing the campsite after the last night and leave no rubbish behind.

Day 10 (Saturday 2 January): Pack up and return the van

Season campers depart on 2 January. Leave early, fill the fuel tank and empty toilets at the Woodford Showgrounds dump point, then return the campervan in Brisbane before the depot's last return time, which for Jucy is earlier on weekends.

Tips for Woodford Folk Festival in a campervan

  • Buy your camping ticket before the van: you need a ticket with camping to stay on site, there are no single-night camping tickets, and the cheapest early bird rounds for a Season with Camping ticket are already exhausted.
  • Do not rely on a powered site by default: check your van has a 240V inlet and a 25 metre tested and tagged lead, and confirm with Woodfordia on 07 5496 1066 that your model suits a powered site.
  • Arrive with full water tanks: powered sites have no water hookup, so fill up before you reach Woodfordia and know where the Woodford Showgrounds dump point is.
  • Collect on 24 December, return on 2 January: depots we checked close on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and Saturday closing times are earlier at some depots.
  • Pack for summer: expect heat, dust, thunderstorms and cool nights. Bring earplugs, shade and a fan or a battery power option because generators are banned.
  • Keep one vehicle: only one vehicle is allowed per campsite, and extra vehicles need a $30 Long-Term / Day Parking pass and park in the front car park.
