What's on in the USA

Big events and holiday weekends fill RVs and campgrounds fast, so book early if your dates line up.

Apr

Coachella

Empire Polo Club, Indio, California

Two weekends in 2027, 9 to 11 and 16 to 18 April. RVs can't park or camp on site, so stay at a nearby RV resort.

Jul

4th of July

Towns and cities across the USA

Fireworks and parades on Sunday 4 July 2027, with Monday 5 July off. Book campgrounds early for the long weekend.

Aug to Sep

Burning Man

Black Rock City, Nevada

Runs 29 August to 6 September 2027. Some brands add a US$1,000 Burning Man fee, so declare it when you book.

Oct

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Balloon Fiesta Park, Albuquerque

More than 500 balloons fly over nine days, 2 to 10 October 2027. On-site RV spaces must be booked online in advance.

Quick Event Tips for USA RV Travellers

  • Check the RV Rules: Coachella has no RV parking or camping, and Balloon Fiesta RV lots take no drive-ups, so book a site before you lock in the van.
  • Declare Festival Trips: Travellers Autobarn, El Monte RV and Road Bear RV charge US$1,000 for Burning Man trips, so tell the brand before you pick up.
  • Holiday Weekends: Memorial Day (31 May), the 4th of July and Labor Day (6 September) are peak 2027 camping weekends, so reserve sites early.

RV parks and attractions across the USA

Where to stay with the RV in the big national parks, and the classic sights worth a USA road trip.

Holiday parks where you can stay with your campervan

Fishing Bridge RV Park

Where the Yellowstone River leaves Yellowstone Lake, about 376 miles (606 km) from Salt Lake City, this is Yellowstone's only campground with full hookups. Its 310 sites take hard-sided RVs only, as it sits in bear habitat. The 2026 season ran from 8 May to 17 October at US$94 a night plus tax, and 2027 sites open on Recreation.gov about six months ahead.

Circle Pines KOA, Williams

Off I-40 at Exit 167 near Williams, a Route 66 town about 220 miles (355 km) from Las Vegas, this KOA is a handy base for the Grand Canyon's South Rim, about 59 miles (95 km) north. RV sites are pull-through or back-in with 20, 30 or 50 amp power. There's an indoor heated pool and hot tubs, a pizzeria and cafe, a store, laundry and propane fills.

Cedar Pass Campground, Badlands

Near the Ben Reifel Visitor Center, about 455 miles (732 km) from Denver, Cedar Pass has 96 sites looking out over the Badlands buttes. RV sites with power but no water or sewer cost US$47 a night, or US$37 without power, and there is a dump station on site. Campfires aren't allowed. It opens late March to mid-October and takes bookings eight months ahead.

Elkmont Campground, Smokies

About 10 miles (15 km) from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Elkmont is the closest family campground to Sugarlands Visitor Center. Most of its 200 tent and RV sites have paved driveways, with room for RVs up to 35 ft (10.7 m). There are no hookups or showers, and the nearest dump station is 6 miles (10 km) away. Sites cost US$30 a night, from early April to late November.

Top attractions to build your trip around

Desert View Watchtower on a rocky point above the layered cliffs of the Grand Canyon under a blue sky

Grand Canyon National Park

About 275 miles (443 km) from Las Vegas, the South Rim is open all year, and Desert View's stone watchtower is 26 miles (42 km) east of Grand Canyon Village. Flood damage to the park's waterline has suspended overnight stays on the South Rim, with only dry camping allowed, so check alerts. Entry is US$35 per vehicle, plus US$100 per non-resident aged 16 and over.

Beehive Geyser shooting a tall column of water and steam into a blue sky in Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park

About 353 miles (567 km) from Salt Lake City, Yellowstone is home to Old Faithful, the Upper Geyser Basin and the bison of the Lamar Valley. Entry is US$35 per vehicle for seven days, plus US$100 per non-resident aged 16 and over. Services are limited from early November to late April, so plan a late spring to early autumn trip and book campsites well ahead.

US 163 running straight towards the red sandstone buttes of Monument Valley under a pastel sky

Monument Valley

Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park straddles the Utah-Arizona border, about 179 miles (287 km) from Grand Canyon Village. The classic view of the buttes is from US 163, and the visitor centre looks out over the Mitten Buttes. The 17-mile Valley Drive is rough, sandy and unpaved, so leave the RV and join a Navajo-guided tour. Entry is US$10 per person a day.

Red, orange and gold autumn trees below mist-covered forest near Newfound Gap in the Great Smoky Mountains

Great Smoky Mountains

Straddling Tennessee and North Carolina, the Smokies are named for the mist that rises like smoke from the ridges. Gatlinburg is the main Tennessee gateway, 16 miles (25 km) from Newfound Gap. Entry is free, but any vehicle parked for more than 15 minutes needs a parking tag: US$5 a day, US$15 a week or US$40 a year. Campers parked on their own site don't need one.

USA RV Rental Itineraries

Read our LA to the Wild West movie road trip →

Grand Circle & Death Valley Loop (21 Days)

+

Days 1-2: Las Vegas to Valley of Fire & Zion

+
−

Day 1: Collect your RV in Las Vegas, where the motorhome depots release vans from 1pm and Travellers Autobarn from 10am, and stock up on food and water. This loop suits April or October, when all four brands allow Death Valley and the parks are mild. Drive about 60 miles (97 km), around 1.5 hours, to Valley of Fire State Park, where every campsite is booked ahead.

Day 2: See the petroglyphs at Atlatl Rock and Mouse's Tank in the cool of the morning, as the Fire Wave and other longer trails close from 15 May to 30 September. Then drive about 130 miles (213 km), close to three hours, via Interstate 15 to Springdale at Zion's south entrance, and book two nights at Watchman Campground or an RV park in town.

Days 3-4: Zion & the Road to Bryce Canyon

+
−

Day 3: Leave the RV at camp and ride the free Zion Canyon shuttle, as the Scenic Drive is closed to private vehicles in shuttle season, usually March to November. Walk the Riverside Walk to the mouth of the Narrows, climb to the Emerald Pools if you have the energy, and finish on the flat Pa'rus Trail beside the Virgin River.

Day 4: Cruise America's 25 and 30 ft motorhomes are too wide for the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, which bars vehicles over 7 ft 10 in (2.39 m) wide including mirrors. Check your RV's size, or head west via Interstate 15, the Kolob Canyons drive, Cedar City and Highway 20 to Bryce Canyon, about 150 miles (240 km) and three hours, and book two nights.

Days 5-6: Bryce Canyon & Scenic Byway 12

+
−

Day 5: Walk the Rim Trail between Sunrise and Sunset Points, then drop among the hoodoos on the Queen's Garden and Navajo Loop trails. Vehicles 23 ft (7 m) or longer can't park at the main viewpoints during shuttle hours, so leave a bigger RV at camp and use the free park shuttle. Nights are cold at this height, even in spring and autumn.

Day 6: Follow Scenic Byway 12 east through Escalante and Boulder, taking the narrow Hogback ridge slowly, to Torrey, about 115 miles (184 km) and three hours. Stop at the Escalante viewpoints, or walk to Lower Calf Creek Falls if you start early, and book two nights near Capitol Reef National Park.

Days 7-8: Capitol Reef to Moab

+
−

Day 7: Explore Fruita, the old orchard settlement inside Capitol Reef, and see the Fremont petroglyphs beside Highway 24. Walk the Hickman Bridge trail to a natural bridge, then drive the paved part of the Scenic Drive. Skip the dirt spurs into Grand Wash and Capitol Gorge in a big RV, as unpaved roads can void your hire cover.

Day 8: Head east along the Fremont River to Hanksville and detour to Goblin Valley State Park to wander among its mushroom-shaped hoodoos. Continue via Green River to Moab, about 185 miles (300 km) and four to five hours with the detour, and book three nights at an RV park in town, a handy base for two national parks.

Days 9-10: Arches & Canyonlands

+
−

Day 9: Reach Arches National Park early, as car parks fill by mid-morning, and see The Windows and Double Arch in the cooler hours. Late in the day, hike to Delicate Arch for sunset, about 3 miles (4.8 km) return with a steep slickrock climb, carrying plenty of water and a torch for the walk back.

Day 10: Drive about 33 miles (52 km) to the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park for the short walk to Mesa Arch and the view from Grand View Point. On the way back, stop at Dead Horse Point State Park, which charges its own entry fee, for sunset over a gooseneck of the Colorado River far below.

Days 11-12: Bluff & Monument Valley

+
−

Day 11: Head south on US 191, stopping at Newspaper Rock and the Needles District of Canyonlands for short walks such as Cave Spring. Continue to the small river town of Bluff, about 180 miles (290 km) and five hours with the park detour, and stock up on water and fuel before crossing into the Navajo Nation.

Day 12: Drive about 50 miles (79 km) past Mexican Hat and Forrest Gump Point to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, which charges its own entry fee and doesn't take US park passes. RVs aren't allowed on the unpaved Valley Drive, so book a Navajo-guided tour, and stay at The View Campground or Goulding's for sunset over the Mittens.

Days 13-14: Page & Antelope Canyon

+
−

Day 13: Drive about 125 miles (200 km), close to three hours, to Page on Lake Powell. Arizona doesn't observe daylight saving time while the Navajo Nation does, so check which time any tour uses. Walk out to Horseshoe Bend for sunset over the Colorado River, and book two nights at an RV park or campground near the lake.

Day 14: Join a Navajo-guided tour of Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon, booked well ahead, as the slot canyons can only be visited with a licensed guide. Spend the afternoon swimming or on a boat cruise on Lake Powell, then refill water, empty the tanks and restock in Page before heading for the Grand Canyon.

Days 15-16: Grand Canyon South Rim

+
−

Day 15: Drive about 140 miles (224 km), around three hours, via Cameron to the Grand Canyon's East Entrance. Climb the Desert View Watchtower and stop at the viewpoints along Desert View Drive to Grand Canyon Village, then check into Mather Campground or Trailer Village RV Park, which has full hook-ups, both booked ahead.

Day 16: Watch sunrise from Mather Point, then walk the paved Rim Trail through the historic village. Hermit Road is closed to private vehicles from 1 March to 30 November, so ride the free shuttle out to Hermits Rest. If you walk below the rim on the Bright Angel Trail, turn back early, as the climb out is far harder than the way down.

Days 17-18: Route 66, Hoover Dam & Las Vegas

+
−

Day 17: Drive about 60 miles (96 km) south to Williams, then follow old Route 66 west through Seligman, with its retro diners and souvenir shops, to Kingman. Turn north on US 93 to Boulder City near Hoover Dam, about 250 miles (400 km) and five hours in all, and camp at Lake Mead National Recreation Area or in Boulder City.

Day 18: Visit Hoover Dam in the morning, parking in the oversized-vehicle area on the Arizona side after the security check every vehicle goes through. Drive about 45 minutes into Las Vegas, restock and book an RV park for the night, then take a rideshare to the Strip, as casino garages aren't built for motorhomes.

Days 19-21: Death Valley & Return to Las Vegas

+
−

Day 19: Drive about 120 miles (190 km), around 2.5 hours, via Pahrump to Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park, filling the water tank before you leave Las Vegas. Stop at Zabriskie Point for the badlands in the late afternoon light, and book a site at Furnace Creek Campground ahead, as the cooler months are the busy season.

Day 20: Drive about 18 miles (28 km) south to Badwater Basin, 282 feet (86 m) below sea level, and walk onto the salt flats before the heat builds. Artists Drive has a 25 ft (8 m) length limit, so skip it in a large motorhome. In the afternoon, drive about 60 miles (97 km) to Pahrump for the night, ready for an easy last morning.

Day 21: Drive about 60 miles (93 km), roughly an hour, back to Las Vegas, refuel, empty the tanks and return the RV, as most depots take returns in the morning and Travellers Autobarn until 3pm. This loop covers about 1,800 miles (2,900 km), so Cruise America's 39 cents a mile adds roughly US$700, while Travellers Autobarn includes unlimited miles.

San Francisco to LA via Yosemite & Big Sur (14 Days)

+

Day 1: San Francisco to Groveland

+
−

Day 1: Collect your RV at your brand's East Bay depot, as the San Francisco depots sit across the bay from the city, and stock up on groceries. This is a one-way hire, so check one-way availability for your dates when you book. Drive about 120 miles (195 km), close to three hours, across the Central Valley to Groveland, a gold rush town near Yosemite.

Days 2-3: Yosemite Valley

+
−

Day 2: Drive about 1.5 hours into Yosemite, paying the US$35 vehicle fee plus US$100 for each non-US resident aged 16 and over, unless you carry the US$250 annual pass. Stop at Tunnel View for El Capitan, Half Dome and Bridalveil Fall, then check into a valley campground such as Upper Pines, booked five months ahead.

Day 3: Leave the RV at camp and ride the free valley shuttle. Walk to the foot of Lower Yosemite Fall, then climb the steep Mist Trail to the Vernal Fall footbridge, or stroll the meadows below El Capitan to watch climbers on the wall. Keep all food in the closed RV or a bear locker, as black bears live here.

Day 4: Glacier Point & Mariposa Grove

+
−

Day 4: Drive Glacier Point Road, usually open from May to November, for the view over Half Dome; only RVs 30 ft (9 m) or shorter may go past Sentinel Dome. Then head south to the Mariposa Grove Welcome Plaza and ride the shuttle up to the giant sequoias, and stay near Oakhurst, about 85 miles (135 km) for the day.

Days 5-6: Monterey & Carmel

+
−

Day 5: Fill the tank in Oakhurst and drive about 170 miles (270 km), close to four hours, west across the Central Valley to the coast at Monterey. Book two nights at an RV park in or near town, then walk the waterfront recreation trail past Cannery Row and watch the sea lions from Fisherman's Wharf at sunset.

Day 6: Spend the morning at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, then drive a few minutes south to Carmel-by-the-Sea, parking on the edge of the village, for its white-sand beach, galleries and the Carmel Mission. Watch for sea otters in the kelp beds along the coast path back in Monterey, and restock for Big Sur, where shops are few.

Day 7: Bixby Bridge & Big Sur

+
−

Day 7: Head south on Highway 1, which fully reopened through Big Sur in January 2026, using the pull-outs for photos of Bixby Creek Bridge. Check Caltrans QuickMap before you go, as slips and roadworks can bring one-way traffic controls. Book two nights at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, about 28 miles (45 km) from Carmel, checking the site fits your RV.

Days 8-9: McWay Falls & Hearst Castle

+
−

Day 8: Walk the redwood trails in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, then drive 11 miles (18 km) south to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park for the short walk to the McWay Falls overlook, where the waterfall drops onto a cove. Skip the narrow road down to Pfeiffer Beach, which isn't suitable for RVs, and return to camp for a quiet night under the trees.

Day 9: Drive about 65 miles (105 km) south through Lucia and Gorda on one of California's most dramatic coastal roads, stopping at Ragged Point and the elephant seal viewpoint at Piedras Blancas. Tour Hearst Castle, booked ahead, as buses carry visitors up the hill from the visitor centre, then stay near Cambria or San Simeon.

Day 10: Morro Bay & Solvang

+
−

Day 10: Drive about 30 miles (48 km) to Morro Bay to see Morro Rock at the harbour mouth and sea otters in the bay, then stop in San Luis Obispo for its mission and creekside downtown. Continue past Pismo Beach to Solvang, a Danish-founded town of windmills and bakeries, about 110 miles (180 km) in all, and stay nearby.

Day 11: Santa Barbara

+
−

Day 11: Drive about 33 miles (54 km) over the hills to Santa Barbara. Visit the Old Mission Santa Barbara, walk out along Stearns Wharf and browse the cafes of State Street, arriving early, as parking in town is tight for big vehicles. Stay at Carpinteria State Beach, about 11 miles (18 km) south, booked ahead on ReserveCalifornia.

Days 12-13: Malibu & Santa Monica

+
−

Day 12: Stop at Ventura Harbor for the Channel Islands National Park visitor centre, then follow the Pacific Coast Highway south to Leo Carrillo State Park on the Malibu coast, about 50 miles (80 km) in all, booked ahead. Spend the afternoon exploring its tide pools and sea caves, and watch the sunset over the Pacific from the beach.

Day 13: Stop at Zuma or El Matador beach, using the bigger car parks, then drive about 28 miles (44 km) to Santa Monica Pier, where a sign marks the end of Route 66. Walk or cycle the beach path to Venice, then stay at Dockweiler Beach RV Park near LAX, as many Los Angeles streets restrict overnight RV parking.

Day 14: Return in Los Angeles

+
−

Day 14: Empty the tanks, refuel and return the RV to your Los Angeles depot in the morning, allowing for traffic. Cruise America collects a one-way mileage estimate of 250 miles a night up front and refunds unused miles on return, so check the final total. With a late flight, take a rideshare to Griffith Observatory for views over the city.

Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon & Zion Loop (7 Days)

+

Days 1-2: Hoover Dam & Route 66

+
−

Day 1: Collect your RV in Las Vegas, stock up on food and water and drive about 25 miles (40 km), under an hour, to Boulder City on the edge of Lake Mead. Camp at Lake Mead National Recreation Area or an RV park in town, and run through the RV's water, power and gas before dark, ready for an early start at Hoover Dam.

Day 2: Visit Hoover Dam early, parking in the oversized-vehicle area on the Arizona side after the security check every vehicle goes through. Then drive via Kingman along old Route 66 through Seligman, with its retro diners and neon signs, to Williams, about 200 miles (320 km) and four hours, and stay at an RV park in town.

Days 3-5: Grand Canyon, Page & Zion

+

Day 3: Drive about 1.25 hours north to the Grand Canyon's South Rim, paying US$100 for each non-US resident aged 16 and over unless you carry the US$250 annual pass. Walk the Rim Trail from Mather Point, ride the free shuttle along Hermit Road, closed to private vehicles from March to November, and watch sunset from Hopi Point.

Day 4: Drive east along Desert View Drive, stopping at the viewpoints and the Desert View Watchtower, then leave the park and head north through Navajo Nation lands to Page, about 140 miles (224 km) and three hours in all. Walk the short trail to Horseshoe Bend for sunset over the Colorado River, and camp near Lake Powell.

Day 5: Take a Navajo-guided Antelope Canyon tour in the morning, booked ahead. Cruise America's 25 and 30 ft motorhomes are too wide for the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, so drive via Kanab, Highway 59 and Hurricane to Springdale, about 160 miles (256 km) and 3.5 hours, and book a night at Watchman Campground or an RV park.

Days 6-7: Zion & Valley of Fire

Day 6: Ride the free Zion Canyon shuttle early, as the Scenic Drive is closed to private vehicles in shuttle season, and walk the Riverside Walk to the mouth of the Narrows. After lunch, drive about 140 miles (222 km), close to three hours, via Interstate 15 to Valley of Fire State Park, where every campsite is booked ahead.

Day 7: Walk among the red sandstone at Elephant Rock and see the petroglyphs at Atlatl Rock in the cool of the morning, then drive about 60 miles (91 km), under 1.5 hours, back to Las Vegas. Refuel, empty the tanks and return your RV, as most depots take returns in the morning and Travellers Autobarn until 3pm.

Essential USA RV Driving Tips

🎟️ National Park Fees

Since 1 January 2026, non-US residents aged 16 and over pay US$100 each on top of entry at 11 parks, including Zion, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Yellowstone. The US$250 nonresident annual pass covers everyone in your vehicle, so it soon pays off.

🌡️ Desert Heat

Las Vegas averages about 40°C in July and Death Valley runs hotter, so Travellers Autobarn bans Death Valley from 1 May to 30 September. Carry several litres of water each, refuel before remote stretches and walk early.

⛽ Distances & Fuel

Los Angeles to Las Vegas is about 270 miles (430 km), and Chicago to Los Angeles over 2,000 miles. Cruise America's 25 and 30 ft RVs hold 55 gallons (208 litres) of petrol, about US$235 to fill at October 2026's US$4.28 average.

First Time Renting an RV in the USA?

🚦 Driving on the Right

Keep right, with the driver on the left, and go further into intersections before turning right so the rear wheels clear the kerb. Many states, including California and Nevada, allow a right turn on red after a full stop unless a sign says no.

🚐 Big Motorhomes

Class C motorhomes run from about 20 to 32 ft (6 to 10 m), and Cruise America's 25 and 30 ft models are 8.3 ft (2.5 m) wide, too wide for Zion's tunnel road. Allow longer braking distances, watch height limits and avoid driving into city centres.

📏 Mileage Charges

Most US motorhome rentals charge by the mile: 39 cents at Cruise America, 38 at El Monte RV and 47 at Road Bear RV, which also sell 100-mile packs. Travellers Autobarn includes unlimited miles, so compare totals for long trips.

🏕️ Campground Bookings

Popular national park campgrounds sell out months ahead. Yellowstone releases sites six months ahead on a rolling basis, and Yosemite five months ahead on the 15th at 7am Pacific time, often selling out within minutes. Book as soon as your dates are set.

We compare depots in 12 cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Chicago and New York. Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco suit the western national parks. Depots sit outside the airports, so take a taxi or rideshare.

Which RV rental brands can I compare in the USA?

We compare Cruise America, which rents Class C motorhomes across our US city pages, Travellers Autobarn campervans with unlimited miles in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and El Monte RV and Road Bear RV motorhomes in many of the same cities.

When is the best time to rent an RV in the USA?

For the desert parks, April, May, September and October bring mild days, as Las Vegas averages about 40°C in July. Most Yellowstone roads are open from mid-April or May to 31 October, so June to September suits the northern parks best.

How many days do I need for a US RV road trip?

Seven days covers a Las Vegas loop to the Grand Canyon and Zion. Allow 14 days for San Francisco to Los Angeles via Yosemite and Big Sur, and three weeks for the Grand Circle parks or Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles, which is over 2,000 miles.

Can I do a one-way RV rental in the USA?

Often, yes. Our live searches found Cruise America one-ways such as Las Vegas or Los Angeles to San Francisco, Seattle to San Francisco and Chicago to Los Angeles, with drop fees that vary by route and date. Check one-way availability for your dates.

Are miles included in a US RV rental?

Usually not. Cruise America charges 39 cents a mile, El Monte RV 38 cents and Road Bear RV 47 cents, or sells 100-mile packs. Travellers Autobarn includes unlimited miles. A 1,800 mile Grand Circle loop adds about US$700 at 39 cents a mile.

Can I drive an RV in the USA on my Australian licence?

Yes. The brands we compare accept a full home-country licence, with no special RV licence. Smartraveller notes some states and rental companies also want an International Driving Permit, so get one before you leave, and bring your physical card.

What is the minimum age to rent an RV in the USA?

All four brands we compare rent to drivers aged 21 and over, and Travellers Autobarn charges no young driver fee. Every driver must be at the pick-up and listed on the agreement, and the main renter needs a credit card in their own name.

What insurance comes with an RV rental in the USA?

Rates include basic liability cover, but damage excess varies. El Monte RV and Road Bear RV sell VIP cover for US$16 a night that cuts it to US$1,500, and Travellers Autobarn sells liability to US$500,000 for US$13.99 a day. Unpaved roads can void cover.

Do I need a national park pass and campground bookings?

Non-US residents aged 16 and over pay US$100 each at 11 major parks, including Yosemite and Yellowstone, on top of entry, so a US$250 annual pass covering your vehicle soon pays off. Book campsites early: Yellowstone opens them six months ahead.

Can I camp for free in a rental RV in the USA?

Sometimes. BLM land generally allows free dispersed camping for 14 days in any 28, with no facilities, but many sites are on dirt roads that hire terms exclude. Walmart lets store managers decide on overnight RV parking, so ask in store first.

Is it hard to drive a big RV on the right?

It takes care at first. Keep right, go further into intersections before turning right so the rear wheels clear the kerb, and brake early. Cruise America's 30 ft motorhome is 8.3 ft (2.5 m) wide, so watch height limits and leave it at camp in big cities.

Can I take a US rental RV into Canada?

Yes, on a return trip. Cruise America allows it but not one-ways between the two countries, Road Bear RV needs it declared at booking, and Travellers Autobarn charges a US$750 Canada Entry Fee. Carry your passport, and check your ESTA for the return.

How far ahead should I book an RV for a US summer trip?

Book as early as you can for June to August. In our searches, Cruise America's July 2027 rates were two to three times its October rates, and Yosemite's campsites, released five months ahead, often sell out within minutes.

Can I take a rental RV to Burning Man or other festivals?

Only if the brand allows it and you declare it at booking. Travellers Autobarn charges a US$1,000 Burning Man fee and El Monte RV and Road Bear RV a US$1,000 surcharge, while Cruise America takes a higher deposit for Burning Man and similar events.
