About LeisureRent
LeisureRent, the trading name of Leisure Rent Pty Ltd, is a small, locally owned Tasmanian rental company that started in 2017. Its founder had spent decades in the state's vehicle rental industry, and it is not part of thl, Apollo, JUCY or any other group. It rents from two depots, near Hobart Airport in Cambridge and near Launceston Airport at Western Junction, and also hires out cars.
The campervan and motorhome fleet has four automatic models: a low-roof 2 Berth Sleeper Van, a stand-up 2 Berth Campervan, the 4 Berth Easy Drive Motorhome and the 6-berth Deluxe Motorhome, a 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Both motorhomes have a toilet and shower, and every hire includes unlimited kilometres and 24-hour RACT roadside assistance.
Is LeisureRent a good choice?
LeisureRent suits couples and families touring Tasmania who want a local operator with depots at both ends of the island. Its Google ratings average 4.8 out of 5 across about 450 reviews, which also cover its car hire, with praise for the airport shuttle, friendly staff and clean vehicles. The trade-offs are a 5-day minimum hire, drivers aged 23 to 80 only, no pets and depots staffed on weekdays only, so compare Cruisin Motorhomes if you want weekend service in Hobart.
